The eccentric writer (10) – That annoying piece of memory

Stumbles upon a piece of article about an old friend.

Remembers the old friend as a really close friend who has gone missing for several years.

Reads the article.

Finds the ‘About’ section at the end of the article.

Winces at the headshot image of said old, close friend.

Remembers said old, close friend and their inability to smile properly still.

Remembers said old, close friend and their bad habits.

Remembers said old, close friend and their peculiar behaviour.

Remembers said old, close friend and them being so full of themselves.

Remembers said old, close friend and their over-protective nature.

Remembers said old, close friend and some good times before ‘it’ happened.

Remembers said old, close friend as the biggest idiot in the world.

Thinks, Must try to turn this memory into something useful.

Thinks, Must write a story out of this to get rid of the memory.

Thinks.

Begins writing but…

The memory of said old, close friend overwhelms and…

“Urgh!”

Curses Google. Curses LinkedIn. Curses the social media. Curses everything about information technology right back to how it started back in the 90’s.

Curses said old, close friend.

Curses self.

Curses!

“Stupid, stupid, stupid memory.”
