Put on the armour of God!

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. (1 Corinthians 15:25)

[Taken from the second reading of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.]

We are living in a new era. An era of misguidance and confusion.

An era where people:

  • care less about God’s purpose for his beloved creations
  • have less respect for the elders
  • try to outdo one another rather than work together for the greater good
  • abuse rather than protect the young, small, weak and helpless
  • lose themselves to ungodly desires rather than love themselves

In this new era, faith has been replaced by fear and facts. People seem to fear God less and fear the world more. (Matthew 10:28) People need physical prove to believe in the works of God. (John 20:29) Sometimes the things we see with our eyes may just be an illusion but we don’t see that anymore. Sometimes the things we are tricked to believe can make us forget who God is.

It is time we ‘Put on the armour of God so that [we] may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.’ (Ephesians 6:11) It is time to protect our children from deterioration of moral values. It is time to turn back to the Heavenly Father and ask for the grace to live the life he intended for us. It is time to ‘pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience and gentleness.’ (1 Timothy 6:11) It is time to begin with our own family and our own home.

So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace. In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:14-17)

May the Lord’s name be praised and glorified. Amen!
